Circular windows, or along the ocean called Portholes, are difficult to design window coverings for. We have already discussed plantation shutters for these windows. Now we will discuss other options.
The next most obvious, is a sheer fabric gathered on a circular flexible rod. The benfits of this design are simplicity and low cost.

This unusuual round window is in a perfect nautical setting in this beautiful beach front home. The problem for the homeowner was that this window is in their master bedroom, and the window faces East. After too many early mornings waking up from the sun, they finally heard from a friend that we could cover any shaped window with a plantation shutter.
This shutter was crafted from maple and painted to match the existing wood work. The shutter fit perfectly within the existing opening, and was mounted with heavy duty magnets for easy removal when needed. Learn more about what we can do with shaped windows.
