Are Your Windows Safe For Your Children?

Filed under: Child Safe Window Treatments — Tags: — admin @ 4:25 pm

One of our primary concerns when working with clients is safety. We always ask about small children and even pets in the home before making any recomendations for specific products. If you have small children or pets in the home you really should take a walk around the home and see if your window treatments pose a potential risk. Look for cords that dangle close to the floor or near furniture that a child might climb on. Would it be possible for these cords to become wrapped around a childs neck? Is there a way to hook the cords up out of the reach of a child?

You can learn much more at the website of the Window Covering Safety Council. They even offer free kits to retrofit most window coverings.

These shutters were installed in a bonus room over looking a new great room addition in a home in Rye, NH. The shutters will provide light control and privacy to the upstairs room, as well as close off the opening while grandchildren are playing in the room. The shutters also lessen sound transmission and look great from both areas! The clear coat solid maple shutters accent the decor in both rooms.
