Who we are

Verticals Etc began in 1993 as a factory outlet specializing in vertical blinds. Over the next decade the company evolved into a standalone business focused on quality, professionally installed window coverings.

Ed Hopkins purchased Verticals Etc. in 2003, and has built upon the fine reputation of the company by expanding the highly trained staff and quality product offerings.

With this emphasis in mind, Ed made the decision in late 2004 to join a new national network of dedicated window covering retailers called Exciting Windows!.

This affiliation has provided some of the very best training available in the industry, along with important advertising and purchasing support that has helped Ed and his staff work with other retailers on a national scale.

Most importantly, Exciting Windows! provides a consistent identity with 21 Points of Peerless Service and provides the highest level of customer assurance with the best Guarantee in the industry.

Exciting Windows! by Verticals Etc continues to offer national brands like Hunter Douglas, Graber, and Comfortex, as well as Kirtz Shutters and Robert Allen, Castec, Lafayette and Carole fabrics.

A staff of experienced and certified Exciting Windows! consultants are also on hand to personally visit customers in their homes to help choose just the right products for their unique living spaces.
	Ed Hopkins has been honored to be chosen as a National Director of the Window Covering Association of America and has served on the board since 2005. He has also been a member of the National Advisory Board of Exciting Windows! since 2005, serving as Chairman in 2007.
	Mary Ellen O'Donnell has been around window fashions all of her life. She spent many hours as a young adult working with and helping her father in his role of manager of the custom drapery workroom for Anton's of Massachusetts. After taking some time away from the industry to raise her two sons, Mary Ellen joined the team at Exciting Windows! in 2005. Her experience and skills with all aspects of window treatments, especially fine custom draperies and soft treatments have been an asset to the company. Mary Ellen's style of truly listening to the client is her hallmark.
	Rita Collins joined Exciting Windows! as office Manager in 2007. Rita brings organizational and office management skills learned from running her own hair styling business for many years, as well as a true understanding of window treatments from her installation experience.
	Derrick Paterson is known around the Seacoast region as the master of window treatment installation. Derrick has worked as an installer of window treatments only for over twenty years. His experience is of the utmost value in assuring the perfect installation of your soft treatments.
	Guy Larivee retired as a Captain from the Hampton Fire Department in 2006. Shortly after he began his second career as an installer working with Derrick and Ed. Guys' attention to detail and level of workmanship is highly valued. Guy specializes in the installation of plantation shutters, blinds and shades.
